Sofia Pintzou was born in Athens, Greece. She recieved her academic education at the Greek State School of Dance, the Rallou Manou school of dance and the Department of Sports & Science of the Kapodistrian Athens University.
Her working engagements include the Hellenic Dance Co. (also on tour in Brussels, Paris, Delphi), Greek National Opera, Athens & Epidavrus Festival, Staatstheater Kassel, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Renato Zanella, Marco Santi, Theater Lüneburg, Satu Tuomisto + Comp. (also on tour in Seoul-S.Korea), NOW dance company Seoul, Yossi Berg & Oded Graf, Analysis dance co., Arthosis dance co. and Yasmin Vardimon. She has also performed in various films created by directors from Spain (Jo Graell), UK (Ron Hagell) and Greece (Ash Bulajef, Vardis Marinakis).
During the last 5 years she has given modern and contemporary dance workshops and trainings in Oulu-Finland (Valve Cultutal Center), Zürich (Stage School), Lüneburg (Theater Lüneburg), Athens (Greek State School of Dance) and Berlin (Motion‘s, Dancestudio).
In 2010, walking more creative paths, she had the honor to choreograph the operete ‘Orpheus in der Unterwelt‘ in direction by Patrick Seibert for the Opern & Operettentagen in Lüdinghausen, Germany. Later, her duet ‘For example, a productive day. Solo II‘ was presented in Lucky Trimmer Series#18 in Berlin and in 3rd Arc for Dance Festival in Athens. She lives as a freelance dancer in Berlin since 2008.
